This year will be a true test of coaching and rebuidling. Both FRA and CCS lost 3 of their top 5 runners from last year. From the results so far, it appears that CCS, Sullivan Central and Lipscomb have set their sights on displacing FRA from the podium at the States. FRA, fresh off a team victory last weekend at the Patriot Invitational in Atlanta, is determined to repeat at State. Stay tuned. This year's A-AA state champ is still in development.

District 11 Meet on Tuesday shows that the A-AA competition will be tough this year.

Father Ryan 43, MBA 86, Libscomb 86, FRA 90, USN 91.

Depth of team will determine winner. 4th and 5th runners will likely be the deciding factors for the A-AA Region and State races.

As always, it's all about the 5th place runner at State. All the top 10 schools have 3 and/or 4 strong runners but to finish in the top three you have to have a strong performance from that 5th boy or girl. That's probably were the coach is the most visible in CC. Can he or she peak that 5th place person.

If the TSSAA splits public and private, who will be the top teams in A-AA with the private schools gone?

Right now Sullivan Central looks the strongest for the public school A-AA. However, Sullivan's student enrollment is over 1000 so it's not really a A-AA school despite its TSSAA classification. Page and Whitehouse-Heritage also look strong, but they too, I believe, are over 1000 enrollment.

For a true A-AA school in the Nashville area , the top two are probably Hume-Fogg and ML King. I'll let you guys in the other parts of Tennessee pick your A-AA favorites.

You seem to be saying that Hume-Fogg and MLK are true A-AA schools b/c they're not private, yet they are magnet schools and get to select their students like privates. I don't want to turn this into a public/private situation, but if you think that private schools like DLHS and FRA are not true A-AA schools, then neither are Hume Fogg and MLK.
