Look at it by class. That's what I think the AP should do anways, do it by class. You'd end up bumping some of those honorable mentions up to the second team, possibly the first team. That'd leave you with less guys on the honorable mention. Might be a little watered down, but they are all deserving.

Man, I really thought Fisher was the best QB in the state. His Stats are unbelievable not to mention he was the Super 7 offensive player of the year and Clinic Bowl MVP. I think Edmiston is definately a great football player, but I would have put him as an athlete more than a QB. I don't think his arm could touch Fisher's...and yes I have seen him play.

 

Michael Fisher - 12 games played - 147 completions out of 234 attmepts for 2302 yards. Thats 63% with 16 TDs and 4 Int (Josh White won the Heisman with same percentage :justwrestle: ), averaging 182 yards passing per game. He had a 164 efficiency rating.

I absolutely agree. Also, nobody has as sharp a mind as Fisher. He used his intelligence brilliantly, mastering a complex college offense.

First off, it's Jason White who will be leading OU to their 8th National Championship.

 

I also agree with BigDogDaddy, Solima was awesome running quite a complex offense. And don't say, MBA fans, that Solima's stats are better because he played one more game than Fisher. Solima didn't play vs Ravenwood and was seen in limited action vs Kenwood (two games he could have easily padded some stats).

 

WesVols, I'm not quite sure how you can say he had the most sharp mind, that can't really be proven. I think Solima was pretty darn smart at the position, too.

I guess these posts show our own biases. Personally, I think Michael Edmiston is quite deserving. I, also, saw several of these guys play...and Edmiston several times. He is as good as any I saw.

If I counted correctly, Riverdale had 10 make Honorable Mention. None made the first or second team but 8 will be back next year for another try.

 

I thnk that goes to show it really is a team game. Of course, Germantown had three on the 1st and 2d team. It doesn't hurt to have some of those big dogs too. :justwrestle:

Any QB who passes for more than 1500 yards in a season of 10 games should be "in the hunt!" Any TB who rushes for more than a 1500 yards should be a candidate for any state-wide poll.

Congrats to all players mentioned -- especially Mario Davis of Marshall County, you played with a knee and ankle injury the better part of the year and that is tough on a Running Back.

No, I got it from someone in East Tennessee. I hadn't noticed that they were all from West Tenn. I'll check other complete lists with other papers later today and see if they are all the same.
