Which of the following offensive systems are the most fun to watch? Which do you like to see on Friday nights?

1. I-Pro Offense (TE/SE/WR/FB/TB)

2. Wing-T or Wing-Slot Offense

3. Wishbone

4. West Coast or Spread Offense

6. Power I Offense (Three Backs/Double TE)

Well, the offensive scheme really depends on what type of personel you have on your team. For example...If you've got alot of strength and size, run a power offense. If you've got alot of speed, run Wing-T. I'd say the most fun offense to watch would be a spread offense, with an equal run-pass ratio... you never know what to expect next.

I like good ole, smashmouth, down hill football. So its the I formation for me, and sometimes power I. I am kind of partial to having a lineman pull through the hole, with a full back close behind(or blocking a D-end or what have you), followed by the tailback runnin for 6. or maybe mix it up a lil with a toss...then throw in some passes. Its a lil bit of everything, i guess thats why i like it...but mainly b/c you line up and hit the other team right in the mouth...its great.... But thats just me.

Pro I, because of it's diversity, and the cutbacks it offers a "good-to-great" tailback. And that's a must. You have to have a very good back to assure the LBs stay put for the play-action and counter motion. It isn't used by nearly all the pro teams for nothing.

The deeper set also allows the back to alter his route, so-to-speak....again the cutbacks, the field vision. And with a good back, and obviously a good QB, again the LBs will honor the sprint-draw; which allows the QB more space, especially against zone coverage.

I love to watch the pro set and the spread (used with variations and irregularly for surprise effect.) I've seen the sprint draw, the option and tons of misdirection run from these sets as well as straight-ahead smashmouth and (done correctly) it's a blast to watch at the high school level. The only caveat is that the players have to learn, remember and execute so much more (from the o-line all the way to downfield blocking assignments and routes.) At this level you have to have excellent field vision and leadership abilitites, but man does it get a crowd pumped when it's working for you.

    • Why would the tax payers be responsible for paying for only a coach? In recent years with all the theft from various programs in schools from different programs with booster clubs (not just sports) the State of TN has made alot of rules surrounding booster clubs and how they handle money.  I have two documents to review, 1 is 40 pages from the state comptroller and the other is 37 pages from my district, so I can consider starting a booster club for my middle school program. It has been too much trouble in the past for the other coaches.  There is no way there needs to be an adult in the school building for 7 hours a day with no responsibilities except coaching.
    • The only thing that was said at half time of the 45-0 game was Coach Story, he said: "I know y'all have been out there a lot, but kick-off team, y'all need to get down there faster!" Then he and the other coaches proceeded to go into the coaches office and we all went nuts!  It was the only time I can ever remember coaches not saying anything at half time. Definitely a great memory!!!
    • Boyd could actually be a grade below what he is now, but his parents didn't see the need to "redshirt" him like the other city school down the road would have pushed for....
