Heath Shuler was the biggest disappointment of the NFL, now he is working Knxville right?? I like the 2 different styles of QB that UT has, it could work, just depends on how much these 2 are willing to share the spotlight.....but I believe Ainge will start next week. THe young guy showed composure and executed when under pressure. if these 2 work together and are show unselfishness, then in a couple of years, they WILL dominate.

Why fix it if it isnt broken. Thats what i say, the 2 QB system is working just fine, so dont change it. They are so good and are so different it really makes it tough on opposing D's. Its like you have lil Vick and Manning out there, they are awesome. I'm just excited to see Clausen gone, this is the UT football i have missed the last 4 years.

I am not the only one who couldn't stand Casey Clausen??? thank goodness, He is filled with more hot air than a hot air balloon. He will NEVER make it in the pros...why do u think he wasn't drafted. and he couldn't make it with the Chiefs or Titans...what a loser

Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt....

You sound like a fair weather fan. Casey Clausen was an AWESOME QB...2nd most passing yards in school history. AND he beat Florida IN Florida TWICE

I didn't like him but it was because of the image he seemed to have in the press. He may be a great guy, but I just never liked him too much as a QB.

Amen to that hs sports fan. Finally we have a dominating O-Line and some running backs who are running hard, thanks to RB coach Trooper Taylor. I like both Schaeffer and Ainge but I was upset with Schaeffer's indecision last night on passing plays. He definately has a freshman's mind in some way because he would pull the ball down instead of checking down to other receivers. Ainge has a better sense of patience and stood in the pocket for longer. Either way I like how both of them are playing. They both play well above their experience level and are seeming the adapt to the college game very well. And I can say for the first time in a long time that finally Randy Sanders is calling some good plays. I love the system of checking off at the line...it works very well I think. Great win for the Vols, Wilhoit is the man. Colquitt for Heisman, I'll say that all season.

There are situations where Shaffers ability to scramble will be a huge asset, but when you are behind and gotta throw it, Ainge is the man right now. Not too sure Shaffer has the ability to make the checkoffs right now. If you ask the receivers, bet they vote Ainge.

If Shaffer develops over the year and becomes an accomplised passer and makes the correct reads, he could be deadly. Tee started off as a runner, but developed into a complete QB.

While Ainge did an excellant job Saturday I think in the end it will be Schaeffer. Ainge reminds me of Bret Farve more than say Peyton. He (ainge) has such a strong arm that already he is developing a tendency to force things a little. He got away with it this weekend, but eventually it will catch up with him. But hey it sure is a great problem to have.

    • Ouch! If he's in the scrap business maybe
    • That's a nice story but has little to nothing to do with what we're talking about.
    • The winds of change are blowing in Hartsville.     Will be an interesting follow.    Would go back to the 90s and turn black the clock!
    • Did he promise you a coordinator job or something if he ever got a head coaching job? He resigned? He was at the top of the dugout last night calling plays. I wonder if those 30+ parents would let him give their kids a ride. by the way the board meeting was last night and it was not mentioned. must have been at the work session earlier this week which is not public. must be trying to keep it quiet.  Since you know so much, how much is Robbie Atwood willing to pay Adam Cothron?  Didn't you slander Eden earlier on here? You also didn't know he was a faculty coach again so how much do you really know? Some people outside this county baffle me with their need to slander others.
    • He resigned smh, and have you ever heard of charged but not convicted. Some people in this county baffle me with their need to slander others. Have you asked any of the 30+ parents that signed a petition to get him reinstated at the board meeting this week how they feel about this? Just let it play out, at the end of the day the only people that will bring TC back are the ones that know what its about at its core.    People hate losing and they aren't used to it at TC. I for 1, and I'm sure others too, understand having a dip in talent and not being able to compete for a state title every year. But in the past, TC teams have outworked more talented teams, they didn't continuously lose the turnover battle, they didn't commit 8+ penalties in several games each season, and I believe several of the folks in town that want Blake out feel as if he is neglecting the history of the program. This is from a source that used to be extremely close to the program (not me lol), Blake gets out of school midday and the players show up and there is no practice plan or itinerary.  I also understand those that are on team Blake, when he has loads of talent, he wins. He does know football and he is a tremendous DC, and if the rumors are true then he will do great things. As for the board member issue, it is what it is, everyone that's true to the county know that and nothing has changed. I agree though that they should strive to make the facilities as good as we can. And as far as potential candidates, I agree there is very few options. West, Vetetoe (yes I know), and couple others that could have some interest. Whatever happens is massive for the program during a pivotal time before the next big wave of stars make their way through.
