Haven't seen Cheatham Co. play, but like the way Fairview plays, with good size up front and speed at the skill positions.  Special teams could be the difference, and Fairview has good specialists.  Here's hoping Fairview "gets the ring."

By the way, UTM gets throttled on the road by SEMO - TTU is rolling in the OVC if anyone cares (yeah, I know.)

Good Luck 'Jackets!

SEMO is garbage buddy!!! I hear that TN Tech is very interested in Sycamore quarterback Josh Garza, do you know whether or not there is any truth to this? I'm glad to see that the Golden Eagles beat Jacksonville State last weekend. Now you guys have control of your own destiny as far as the 1-AA playoffs are concerned. Best of luck to you this week at Samford.

Now back to Cheatham-Fairview!!! This game is going to be very smashmouth without question. Both secondaries do have to be on red alert because both of the quarterbacks in this game are capable of beating folks deep and the way that both of these teams can run the football I expect that play-action in the passing game could be key. I don't know all that much about the Fairview recievers, but Cheatham has some guys who can make plays once they catch the football and they are Donnie Thomas, Brandon Piper, Robert Hambley, and Austin Stokes (who is a tight-end being looked at by a few OVC schools).

Thanks! GO Tech! I have seen Garza play twice and he is every bit as good as they say, a very, very good athlete. But, I don't know anything about TTU's recruiting. Also, just kidding about UTM - hope they do beat SEMO!

I think Fairview has a couple of kids that may get to play at the next level, maybe not D-I or even I-AA (but what do I know?) but that shouldn't matter if they really want to play.

Does Cheatham or Fairview have any kids playing college football right now? I know they've both been fairly successful recently, and I see a lot of size and speed for both schools. Should be fun.

GOOD LUCK.

I go to Cumberland. I was on the baseball team last year when we won it all, but i am switching to UTM to play baseball. anyway, aaron does play FB although im not sure he gets too many carries. Garrett is the main man on the line for sure. Our 0-8 or 9 record doesnt show it but we have a good spirited team and can play. We just have a terrible coach. can anyone tell me if TTUEagles is Matt?

Good Luck guys I know you can bring home the Region Title! It belongs back in Fairview where it hasn't been in 13 years. A wise man once told me this "play with your heart and soul, and you will always come out on top."

Oh yuh and I'll be flying in next Friday for the playoff game to see the team that everyone has been talking about for 10 weeks on here, the team that I love, the team that I admire more than anything, and the team that will make history in the record books for Fairview High School!

Gameday has finally arrived folks and I know that this has been considered to be "THE GAME" as far as region 5-2A is concerned in 2004 for a long while now. It is "Senior Night" in Ashland City and I expect for the Cubs to come out pumped off following two lackluster defensive efforts in their previous two games. Loretto's Fisher and Sycamore's Polk have gashed the Cubbies for big yardage in those contests, so if anyone expects for Fairview not to hand the ball to their Mr. Football candidate Bobby Martin then you're sadly mistaken. I think that having senior quarterback Chris Langley back under center will help the Cubs offense tremendously in this one. If Cheatham can somehow control the running game of Fairview, then they'll win because although Bogle is a solid quarterback I really don't see him as a Josh Garza caliber football player. If Bobby Martin starts running all over the Cheatham defense the way that Fisher and Polk have done the past two weeks then a region championship will be bording the bus with the Yellow Jackets at around 10:00 tonight. Another key to this game could be our friend Jsmack. In three games that he has coached against Cheatham, not a single one of them has really been close. If Fairview controls the Cheatham offense the way that they did last year, then folks in Ashland City better start referring to Fairview as being "The Curse of Jsmack". I have decided to not try and predict a winner or loser in this football game, but I do expect for it to be a slugfest. Look for one of the two quarterbacks to step up and make a huge play late in the football game. Best of luck to both teams in this one!!!

Wish I could be in Ashland City for what I consider the game of the week in Middle Tennessee. This is an evenly matched game that will come down to who executes and who steps up for their team. As my friend Big Joe said, the region title hasn't been in Fairview in 13 years and it is as good a year to win it as any. As catfish said it is "senior night" for the Cubs which will make this one even extra special. also catfish talked about the qb's for the game and I think Chris Langley will finally throw an interception this game. I think Bogle has the edge in the qb match-up just for the fact he can beat you with his arms or with his legs. but wow, this is going to be a barnburner tonight. good luck to both teams on being injury-free and representing each of their schools well. Fairview bring home the region!!!

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
