I don't know his stats and it really doesn't matter, but I promise you someone to keep an eye on in future Top 25 recruits is Henry County QB Calvin McNairl. Of all of the sophomore QB's that I've seen in many years, he is further ahead then anyone and an absolute magician with ball faking. Good crisp throws, good speed and jukes. I know my brethern from 6-5A will agree. They drop down to 4-A next year-here is an early warning. Heard last week that Auburn has been contacting him already.

Yea that kid already is a stud, and he is only going to get better, he has 2 more years to get under his belt, 4-A be warned, second year coach, a bunch of good young players. "Magician at ball faking" is an understatement. He even faked the refs out, he had a sure fire TD on the option fake to the fullback, fullback goes down, refs blow whistle. McNairl was out on the corner 3 on 1 in his favor, against the lone corner. HE is gonna be a great player, and a top recruit.

Father Ryan Wrestling  Nov 1 2004 - 09:16 PM Post #5

Golden Tate is an amazing football player

But Ryan White from Brentwood academy is much better

Also Golden would have troubles with Father Ryan's Aaron Bateman at linebacker, along with Anthony Hunt(both sophmores). No to mention the sophmore defensive line Father Ryan, Golden would have serious problems runninng the ball outside or inside due to Father Ryan's speed.

Hey FRW you are really full of hot air. Who exactly did these wonderful sophomores from Ryan stop? Reality Check! You went 2-8.

Golden is a much better player than any of those you mention. JP2 also has Courtney Coffey, Jay Wilson, Chaz Poole and Nick Crutcher starting for them. They have really been a strong force on the defensive line. Wilson and Crutcher also start at offense and have done a very good job protecting. Coffey is a powerful fullback who can plow through anyone.

    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
