You're right...this ought to be a classic. One thing is for sure...neither of us have to worry about unsportsmanlike conduct or cheap shots.

This is one of the best bunch of boys to come onto a SCHS field in a long time...a great bunch of young men to work with...I can honestly say that I'm blessed to know these guys...I've loved every minute of watching them grow into the young men they've become...and know that they will become even greater men...Thanks to the coaches and parents that have shaped them...guided them...and made our jobs as teachers so much easier...

I don't have any stats on hand.....but I think this group of seniors is also the winningest bunch that SC has ever had. Keep up the hard work OWLS!!!!

The win last night was a tough one. They don't get any easier. I don't think they get harder....just not any easier. This should be a 48 minute battle with two well coached football teams. The game is in the HOLE and that is an advantage for SC.

Congratulations Wildcats for getting this far.......The next exit is yours!!

well it has been a few weeks since the last meeting...........now we are here again and each team has shown that they are ready to play it again.......the cats are ready to get there revenge and this game has been the talk at school since week 3 after the loss.....we will be prepared and i know that jimmy will have his bunch ready to play........it will be time to decide who is gonna take on the burden to bring back the gold for the upper cumberland....we all know this game isn't gonna be who can throw for 4 or 5 touchdowns.......it will be a match up of running the ball....im gonna say if you have 250 yards rushing then you will win this game.....im goin to throw out the upset, because i think my boys want it more.....LA19-SC12 now we just have to wait six days to see the best football game in Tennessee.............I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smith Co. better have their A game fri. nite because the Big Blue Train is coming down the tracks like a loco-motive. But I've heard about alot of derailments in my time hopefully not fri nite. I think both teams should be complimented on their good fortune thus far and either team will represent Region 4 proudly. Good Luck to both teams.

LA better get ready...cuz after the last 2 weeks...its lookin like willy is back... :o

Yes, it is true our Willy Mac is back baby. He is running like a man on a mission. He has something to prove and so do the Owls. Another good thing about the running game the line is starting to open up holes big enough to drive a truck through. BEWARE OUR WILMORE IS BACK and it is not looking good for the opposition.

    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
    • Word is Jason Maxwell will be new AD - he is currently head baseball coach. Also heard Roc might be headed to Pope as an assistant coach.
    • you must not know how tssaa operates lol
