Campbell County @ Maryville

Campbell County visits Maryville Tuesday night. I have heard that CC has some pretty big guys. Any thoughts on the outcome?

most of the big guys are first time players at CC....lots of potential but little or no experience...those who play will be good to decent layers...no all-stars, just decent players taht play hard mos tof the time...

I saw where Maryville beat CC pretty easily. Was the game closer than the score would suggest? Maryville is still missing quite a few players with the football team, but they have gotten off to great start.......how did Housley and Curtis play, and does Minton play any varsity minutes......

Final score was 63-48. Both teams played pretty sloppy, Maryvile had 17 TO's and CC had 24. Maryville shot close to 50% however and did well at the foul line. A couple CC players picked up technicals in the second half. Maryville will have to play better than they did last night once they get into district play.

this was a good game until late when it started getting sloppy. cc stopped playing basketball and tried to start officiating. cc and maryville both play hard and with 4 minutes to go it was a 6 point game but cc lost all composure. cc looks like it could be a sleeper in their district.

It was close the entire game until the last 3 minutes of the 4th quarter. Campbell Co. played decent, but playing decent doesn't win a lot of games, just look at the past 3 years.

IMHO, I thought Maryville was clearly the better team. Niether team impressed me with their play. Maryville has the propensity to play to the level of their competition, letting teams hang around. That will eventually come back to bite them. Both teams were very sloppy. Maryville had alot of turnovers by trying to force passes. Way to many ill-advised shots instead of moving the ball and setting picks.

 

Hey, we are just getting started and there are some very good basketball players on the football team. Maryville will have much more depth than they have had in recent years. For now we need to just settle down, run Coach Nelson's offense, and play hard.
