Hubie Brown Retires

Mike Fratello is said to be the front runner for the job. Assistant Coach Lionel Hollins was named interim coach. But rumor has it that West doesnt like him alot and is looking for a man to fill the vacancy soon. I havent even heard his name metioned yet, i thought of it on my own, but someone needs to be contacting Phil Jackson. I know West originally hired Jackson in LA and Dr. Phil is just the man that could put Memphis on the map. How great would it be for Phil to win his 10th ring with Grizz Kids. LETS GET PHIL JACKSON!!!! Someone needs to email the Grizz and West and tell him to start callin Phil now.

Reportedly, West and Jackson get along about as well as Kobe and Shaq. That's one reason West retired from LA...he said me or Jackson, and the Lakers kept Jackson.

The CA's beat writer delved into it.

Chest pains, player insubordination, not being on the same page with Jerry West, barely slept, etc.

Can't say I'm shocked.

Pretty big story for Calkins to go with this as his column rather than using the Tigers' second straight bowl berth, for the first time ever.

Mike Fratello is now officially the new head coach of the Grizzlies and Eric Musselman will be his top assistant as reported by Sportline.com

    • Yes. I have seen that cause problems. In my last coaching stop, if a coach resigned they got them into another building. Sometimes the very next day. Welcome.
    • Agree. The man literally sacrificed time, moments, memories you can't get back with his own family for every single athlete at that school. (and many others) To those that continue to be negative about him and continue to bring him up; He's been loyal, hardworking and just his entire coaching career. Ask anyone that actually has a leg to stand on in regard to Coach.
    • Egotistical? That's a new one.  It's funny, I'm friends with two of the younger coaches that he "ran off" as you say. In fact, he helped them find jobs, encouraged them to do what was best for their growing families, provided advice, support and still does to this day.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out, you don’t wanna go to the grave with that on your heart.
