Somebody told me that Earnest Fields, Jeff Smith and Rod Smith need to be on the list because they all lived in Wingo.

Mustang69... You're right. They should be on that list! I forgot about Johnny Robinson and Marcus McLemore. These guys were tremendous basketball players that led Milan to the State Tournament in basketball that lived in Carroll County.. McLemore played football but I'm uncertain about Robinson..... thumb If I'm not mistaken, Mclemore lives in McNairy County and Robinson lives where he has always lived.

That is a classic Mustang69, We do appreciate all of the contributions these gentlemen have made to Milan High School. Hopefully, the pipeline will remain open forever.

I have known Glen Hayes for many years and coached against him for 20 + years here in McKenzie. I don't know if he could pitch with both hands or not, I don't recall ever seeing him do it but, that sure doesn't mean he can't. Glen and my teams had some classic battles on the diamond over the years-----Glen was/is one of the best baseball coaches around here for a lot of years. His teams were usually the measuring stick I used to see how good MY teams were.

Strick was a heck of a baseball player.  He was drafted by the Cubs after a playing for Vol State in Gallatin.  Then he was traded to the Braves.  He was so wanting to get traded to worst team in the majors.  He knew he would never make the show w/ the Braves.  I have not talked to him in over 3 years.  I dont know if he is still in the minors or not.

A friend of mine sent me this link. http://www.aviatorsbaseball.com/roster.asp I graduated with Greg, but haven't talked to him in a few years. I heard he is doing really well with this team. Of course, it does say he lives in Lake Oswego, OR and not McKenzie. But I'm sure he knows and respects where his roots are.

There was a guy from Trezevant who played for Bethel back in the 80's who could pitch with either arm. I think his name was Don Reed. More than once, he would throw both games of a double header.
