I think that the final straw came when he failed a drug test and refused to take another. I'm not sure though.

I feel a lot better now that Saban is out of Baton Rouge. We should be loaded, assuming the QBs progress like our expectations are assuming they will. Secondary will struggle, but I've heard that same thing for the last 7 years at least.

 

We just have to keep the attitudes in check and we should do just fine.

I know that Banks was suspended for part of this past season, and then he got hurt in practice, ending the season for him. But did he get kicked off the team for next year too?

last I heard he was looking to go to UTC to finish his career, suspended indef and he blames himself.., it was in the Tennessean a few weeks ago...

James Banks is gone and won't be back...He failed a drug test and wouldn't take another so he got kicked off....He was given alot of chances in his career with the Vols and blew it....He tried to enroll with UTC, but after alot of discussion and also some dissent among the boosters at UTC, he wasn't allowed to enroll at UTC...I heard he might have a chance at Murray State,but I'm not positive about that....They usually don't have a problem signing players with a checkered past....

It stinks to hear that. He was a very talented player with NFL potential. And now he might have ruined his chance at making millions someday.

This shows the kind of program that Fulmer runs in K-Town and no one can ever question Fulmer's discipline! He has proved that just because you are a high profile player, dont make you above the rules! Great Job Phil, keep it up! thumb

I'm glad that he does that. Hopefully James will learn his lesson the next time he thinks of doing something like what he did again.

Out of everyone that is returning in 2005, I have to admit I more excited about one person than I am the rest, and that is Phil Fulmer!
