McEwen Lack of Respect?

Why is McEwen not in the top 25 rankings in Middle Tennessee A basketball. They are undefeated and have beaten 9th ranked East Robertson at East. They have beaten 22nd Houston Co. at Houston Co. Is this a lack of respect or is there something I don't know about? How good is McEwen?

Are you looking at the rankings on this site? McEwen is 3rd in the strength+success ratings. They are lower on the strength of schedule. The rankings are also based on what scores have been reported on this site. If a team is missing some games, then it will impact their rank.

I think you are taking this from CoachT's win/loss % rankings. McEwen would be # 1 based upon being undefeated, but they have not played (or recorded) the minimum 13 games as needed to be considered. Didn't they miss some games in December due to bad roads? Prolly the reason.

I'm not sure what rex is talking about. McEwen is ranked 3rd on this site and 9th by the Tennessean. Maybe he is looking at the fan poll. By the way, McEwen did miss two games due to weather.

On this site, the rankings of the teams are only with 13 completed games. Before tonights game, the Warriors are only 12-0. Also for some reason, some times this site considers them in West Tn.

Do you know how they determine that because Waverly is in the same county as McEwen and is farther west and considered in Middle Tn

I'm gonna go ahead and post about the loss before people who don't what they are talking about start talking crap. McEwen was up 19-4 with about 4:00 minutes left in the 1st. HC called a time out and after that they started making a run and McEwen got in terrible foul trouble. Puckett, Smith, and Bubba were all on the bench the remaining of the second half. McEwen's bench kept the game close all though they could not score very much. After the run by HC and the fouls with McEwen it was a one point game at the half. During the third it was a three point game and McEwen's foul trouble started to take affect. At the beggining of the fourth I believe it was a nine point game and from there it went all down hill for the Warriors. McEwen went cold and could not buy a basket. Puckett fouled out and then he got T'd up for untucking his jersey before he got to the bench. Then McEwen's coach got a T for arguing the call about Puckett's technicle. After that the game got out of control as two more McEwen starters fouled out with about three minutes remaining. The refs were terrible and they should have had to pay McEwen for reffing that game. It was pathetic, the one ref who T'd up both McEwen's player and coach was trying to put the focus of the game on himself instead of the players. But a loss is a loss and you can blame the refs cuz the game is in the hands of the players, well for the most part. McEwen suffered its first loss and will just have to battle back from a tough one. You can't win them all!!!! Go Warriors!!

Rankings only matter at the end of March, what teams do now is only practice for tourney time. McEwen will bounce back!! It's to bad NCS doesn't have to worry about being ranked or anything like that. Who did they play tonight, oh yeah, nobody cares.
