Patrick Turner has committed to USC. I really thought he was going to come to UT, but I was wrong. I hope Tennessee finishes up strong we've lost out on the last three players that were heavily looking at us, Michael Oher, Montario Hardesty, and Turner.

I thought he was coming too. Receiver really wasn't a need for the Vols this year, but I'd love to have a 6'-5" wideout!

 

It wouldn't surprise me if Fulmer pulled out a couple or three blue chippers on signing day like he usually does. Stewart is still on the board and they've got a 5 star D-lineman coming in this weekend.

I dont understand why he would want to live in sunny California instead of East Tennessee

His family lives in Tennessee and I would want my family to watch me as much as possible. I think he will end up regretting his decision.

This is not a real surprise but Tennessee isn't hurt by this other than losing a top in-state player like him however receiver wasn't a top priority this recruiting season by Tennessee however they have already replaced Turner with another Army All-American receiver and thats Slick Shelley from Arkansas he has narrowed his choices down to two UT & LSU this is a surprise because almost everyone thought he would be a Razorback. He is scheduled to visit knoxville just 3 days before signing day. He had a great AAA game catching several passes including a TD.

Intersting note: Turner's father was quoted as being surprised at the decision and the fact he announced his decision. Definetly out of the loop.

 

Recruiting is a funny business. Turner's family wants him to stay in TN, Oher's family wants him to go to OLe Miss. UT winds up losing both ways. Also Phillips Mom wants him close to home, so he probably goes to Miami.

 

Never like to lose a recruit, but does not greatly diminsih an already great recruiting year. I think Chris Scott-OL from Ga is most important guy left out there for UT based soley on need. With the loss of Oher another Bigtime OL would be big. Scott is down to UT and Fla, he is rated #1 OG in the nation by Rivals.

 

With five or six scholarships left, the rest would be gravy, but I like gravy.

well you also have to remember a verbal commitment does not mean a thing signing day is not until Feb 2....he might change his mind

Sorry,but it is true,I have seen quite a few not sign with the orginal school.
