Your geography is a bit off, but to fix that: Region 1's home games at ETSU, 2 at Thompson-Boling, 3 at the Roundhouse, 4 at Columbia State, 5 at Vol State or Austin Peay depending on who's hosting, 6 at Vandy or maybe Belmont, 7 at Union or UT-Martin, and 8 is already played in the Pyramid (at least in the AA and AAA classes).

The reason this new rule started about a minimum size gym has nothing to do with the convenience of the fans.  It is entirely due to the fact that the T$$AA realized they were missing out on some money.  So, they fix this by setting these un-funded mandate rules that no school system in the state can afford.  It is just flat-out wrong to do that. 

 

I understand the inconvenience factor on a part of the fans, but every school should be able to host the tourney when it comes their time; particularly when they have EARNED the right to host the substate that year.

 

"It would be nice" as you say to have a neutral site, but such a place only exists in theory.

 

If you want a good seat, get there early.  If it gets too hot, leave.

Good answer,let every school have a chance to host district and region tournaments,if you can,t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

Well, someone said to just get there early if you want a good seat. That's unfair to most fans. There are some fans who follow a team wherever all season long and won't be able to have a seat due to their jobs and other personal reasons, but fans who could care less about the team that is playing are just there because they saw the game before or are getting ready to see the next game. What about the fans that absolutely can't be there early?

The pairings I gave would bebest for AAA.

 

Wasnt even thinking of these other smaller state schools; either.

i think they should definitely have it at harriman. theyve got the biggest by far with the upper deck and it is very dangerous to have that many people in the space i was at the unaka tourney for the cosby game and it was awful

they should play at a college or fund for more seats and i dont see any $$ anytime soon TBK

Every one has got some really good points my point was that it is never a good thing for a fan win a school ask every body to leave the gym after each game so that the people standing outside the gym could come in I was one of those people I stood outside in the parking lot for 45 minutes and never got in the gym I just went back home this happened at Midway and will happen again at Greenback

The problem with Rockwood last year in the Region was the floor. The night of the championship it became a skating rink. They had to mop the floor everytime the ball was on the opposite end.

 

Midway year before was pretty tight. Especially when you get fans of opposing teams on the same side.

 

Never been to Greenback, but I guess I'll see this year. Hope there are good places for me to stand at the ends of the court so I can take pictures.

For Rockwood, Blame the people who thought they'd open the door at the far end of the court to cool off the place at halftime.

 

Gym was fine all week, just hot. Court not a problem until the people opened those doors.

What does the doors being open have to do with messing up the court? Maybe I missed something

Well, I think that a gym should have requirments, but i also think it would be a good idea to give the court to who earns in during the season.

Hot gym, cold air coming in, makes for a slick floor. The condensation settles on it and causes a lot of slipping and sliding.
