Dear East Tennesseans who have never seen the rest of the state,

Meet Simeon Harris.

Simeon%20Harris%20Cordova%20TC%20Yng%20M%20400mH%20Heats_jpg.jpg

This guy beat your Bryan Webb by OVER A SECOND in the 400m last month in Lexington. Nothing against Webb, he's a great runner, but those of you who think he is the only 400 guy in the state, crawl out of your hole and read the results. Fortunately for Webb, Harris probably won't even run the 400m at state as he is one of the top 300IH kids in the southeast US. Joik'n knows what I'm talking about, he got to compete against last month as well.

Finals

1 Harris, Simeon 12 Cordova TC -TN 48.74N 1

2 Roper, Kai 12 DeMatha Catholic-MD 49.61N 3

Indoor track Kenwood, indoor track... :P Just kidding. But we'll see what Brian's time is when we head to Florida in about two weeks. I would be willing to bet that is is gonna be near or below Simeon's time.

And believe me, I know who Simeon Harris is and what he can do.....I read the results.

Here's some interesting results though:

Take at look at your results Kenwood. Bearden had two guys in the top ten(4 and 9 respectively) and we have a third guy with a time good enough to be on that list if he had run. I know Cordova has another guy on there, but 400 is gonna be tough this year.

Bearden is going to be rock solid, and Webb will likely win the AAA 400m...I admit that. The 4x4 (depending on how each school chooses to stack it) could become a great battle for that title. Indoor is a different animal, I will concede that as well. I'm just basically rolling my eyes at all these "webb is my dawg homie g money can run a 39.6" kids that junk up this and other boards that have no knowledge of the state at large. I just can't get over how varied Harris's talents are.

Agreed... I think those that have been to the state meet and competed in it and watched it know the ability of all athletes across all parts of the state. It was fun just to be in it last year and have a shot at a title, but I understood the level of competition that I was up against, and most people that haven't been don't.

Simeon is amazing, and I'm glad that his hurdles are more of a priority to him. He will make the 4x400 interesting though... How many sub-50's will be on the track in that race??!;) That will be awesome!

I think think it will be a heavyweight fight at the state meet this year(assuming that nothing absolutely disastrous occurs). We're looking at returning strong with as many qualifiers and I know Cordova and Houston have reloaded, as has Hunter's Lane.

HL will have to reload...the 4 event rule will hurt Bernard Wilson badly...he's such a good jumper that you just don't expect to see him much on the track this year. They'll need more depth to compete with you guys.
