Sullivan Central vs. Bolivar Central

Recommended Posts

Should be a hard fought game here. Big matchup will be inside with Leonard, who is 6'5", up against Kemp, who is 6"7'. Kemp also outweighs Leonard by about 35 lbs. Leonard should hold his own much like he did tonight against Alcoa. There is something special about this Cougar squad, something I can't put my finger on. I like the Cougars to pull the big upset, 64-61. thumb

It's alright when it's just Leonard vs O. Kemp, but look at Waverly's Ryan Hollis tonight. Bolivar's frontline includes Chism who is 6'9, O. Kemp who is 6'7, and #33 who is 6'5. Points inside just do not come easy against the Tigers thumb That does not even mention the fact that Bolivar has the BEST point guard in the state. His name is Willie Kemp and he is capable of taking over any game at anytime.

Well I'm not going to degrade anything that Bolivar has done this season. They are obviously a A+ cailber team. But even the best teams in sports can lose (ref: Ohio St. vs. undefeated Illinois; OSU wins 65-64). I just believe that Central has had a special season so far and I am glad to see it continue. It will mean we must play a perfect game to keep our season going, but I feel that our boys are up for that task. thumb

Kemp is the smaller of the 2 big men. Chism is a monster, he just abused whoever Waverly put on him tonight...their big man only played a few minutes with all the fouls he picked up tryin to stop Chism. I dont know anything about yall but i know if yall are planning on winnin this game in the paint its gonna be a long night for you. If anyone is gonna beat us this year its gonna have to be done outside there is just too much size and strength down low.

There is a lot of firepower from the outside. Phil Weatherford is a name to watch. Kid led the region in 3-pointers made i believe (If he wasn't #1, he was top 3). Then there's also the crafty point guard, David Sanchez. This is going to be a well-fought game. I doubt we'll try to attack totally from the inside, but Leonard is a very tough and very talented player who is vastly underrated. It is Leonard who helps provide much of the fuel for the Cougars, along with Sanchez. The entire team is playing together as "one" right now, and that's more important than any type of statistics come tournment time.

you can never count this team out. as hollywood said, they've been underdogs a lot of this post season. so for them to be hearin they are underdogs again is not unusual. but this team has a certain characteristic that i just cant put my finger on. somehow they are able to hit huge shots down the stretch and guys coming off the bench provide great minutes. it'll be an extremely hard game for the cougars. but i would not count us out yet. GO COUGARS!!!!!!!

Ya know, alot of people said the Cougars were NEVER going to beat Unicoi and were never going to beat Alcoa, South Greene....among other teams.

Bolivar may be picked to win, and may be "better" than the Cougars. But these boys are out to win, and they'll do everything it takes.

DON'T COUNT OUT THE COUGARS!

I couldn't agree more... I'm thinking the cougars will have a great opportunity to pull another upset and show everyone once again what we're made of.

GO COUGARS!!!! #1 BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!! thumb thumb
