But until then, a glance at some great early dates that prep fans should circle:
Aug. 27: The Brush varsity softball girls play three big 3A preseason tournament games at Aurora Sports Park. Remember, the Beetdiggers reached 3A`s state “Great Eight” last fall and return several key players from that team.
Sept. 2: Rival Sterling challenges Fort Morgan`s gymnasts as they begin a quest for their third straight 4A top-five team finish. The dual in FMHS will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Sept. 2: Weldon Valley`s 1A “Final Four” volleyball team debuts at rival Prairie in New Raymer. The Warriors lost some great seniors but return several excellent freshmen and sophomores from that team.
Sept 3: Fort Morgan and Brush renew their football rivalry at Beetdigger Stadium (7 p.m.).
Sept 3: It`s a 2A state playoff rematch when the Limon Badgers tear into Tiger Stadium for a battle with Wiggins at 7 p.m. The Tigers host three of their first four games.
