HIGH-SCHOOL

The Record's 2011 All-County girls lacrosse team

DANNY KLEIN

MF Nicki Caputo

School/class: Bartram, sr.

Why she's here: Caputo has been a key part of Bartram's dominating run since her sophomore season, tallying 100 goals and 107 ground balls in her career. Caputo was one of the most dangerous attacking midfielders in the county, as well as one of the most experienced. Had a knack for scoring when Bartram needed it most.

MF Sabrina Jennis

School/class: Creekside, sr.

Why she's here: Jennis had an extremely productive season for the Knights, scoring 47 goals and tallying 20 assists on the county's highest scoring team. She also added 35 ground balls. Will play for UCF next season.

MF Jen Nardone

School/class: Creekside, sr.

Why she's here: Also a standout in soccer, Nardone had another stellar season in lacrosse. One of the most athletic players in the county, she scored 33 goals and had 10 assists. Headed to UCF in the fall.

ATK Jordan Cook

School/class: Bartram, sr.

Why she's here: Cook has been around lacrosse as long as most in the county and it showed. She scored 116 goals, notched 78 assists and had 130 draw controls in her four years. Cook was one of the most skilled and reliable players on Bartram.

ATK Katie Mauro

School/class: Ponte Vedra, fr.

Why she's here: Led the 14-3 Sharks with 62 goals. Also added 24 assists. The dynamic Mauro was one of the biggest reasons why the Sharks reached elite status, losing only to Bartram and Creekside this season.

ATK Taylor McCord

School/class: Bartram Trail, sr.

Why she's here: The Record's top player leaves with a handful of North Florida records, including goals (261), assists (124), ground balls (156) and draw controls (171). The University of Florida commit remained the best player on the best team in the county for the past three seasons.

ATK Jordyn Pelkey

School/class: Creekside, sr.

Why she's here: Pelkey led the nation in goals for a good portion of the season, finishing ninth overall with 107, including 12 in one game. Headed to Presbyterian in the fall, her single-season scoring record is one that's going to be very difficult to break.

D Kelsey Dale

School/Class: Bartram, sr.

Why she's here: Dale helped solidify an underrated Bartram defense. She collected 64 ground balls and caused 41 turnovers for the Bears, who allowed 10 or more goals only six times all season.

D Kelly McCormack

School/class: Creekside, so.

Why she's here: McCormack was one of the Knights' most well-rounded players, collecting 52 ground balls, nine goals and eight assists. The 14-5 Knights allowed 10 or more goals just four times.

D Allie Santillo

School/class: Ponte Vedra, sr.

Why she's here: Part of one of the most well-known lacrosse families in North Florida, Santillo had 36 ground balls, 26 draw controls and 37 caused turnovers. Helped tighten up a defense that allowed five or fewer goals 10 times.

GK Whitney Meyers

School/class: Ponte Vedra, jr.

Why she's here: There was little argument about Meyers as the best goalie in the county. The junior stopped 128 shots and kept the Sharks alive in nearly every game this season.
