Cross country: Bartram Trail boys, Creekside girls win district titles

Bartram Trail put all five of its runners inside the top 14 and ran to the District 3-3A cross country championship on Saturday.

Brandon Carver led the Bartram contingent with a 16:29.43 to take second place overall on the 5K course. Nease runner Mac Reynolds was a runaway winner, finishing in 15:44.97.

For the Bears, Brexton Simonsen was third (16:41.83), Dell Fonda (16:51.2) was sixth, Jeremy Fairbanks (17:00.41) was 10th and Alex Musseau (17:05.88) took 14th. The Bears amassed 35 points.

Creekside was second with 71 points. David Tampa led the Knights, finishing ninth (16:53.2). Kevin Petow (17:03.19) followed in 11th.

St. Augustine's top finisher was Noah Kemp, whose 16:48.92 was fifth.

The Reynolds-led Panthers finished fifth overall with 130 points. St. Augustine was sixth (156) and Ponte Vedra (158) was seventh.

Girls cross country

Creekside's dominant finish carried the Knights to the District 3-3A championship.

The Knights took the top four spots, led by overall winner Kaitlin Rodriguez (19:12.65). Shannon Morris (19:27.87), Lauren Rodriguez (19:29.850 and Sarah Heisner (19:30.27) finished in spots two through four, respectively.

Jessica Van Cleave rounded out the Knights' contingent in eighth (20:22.09).

Nease took second with 57 points. The Panthers had a solid 6-7 finish with Kristen Barbour (19:41.86) and Alyssa Rodale (20:15.05) taking those finishes, respectively.

Bartram Trail was third (83), and led by fifth-place runner Rachael Ingoldsby (19:32.41). Hannah Giangaspro followed in ninth (20:26.86).

Ponte Vedra was fifth (132). The Sharks were paced by Maris Isabel Poole (20:29.34), who was 11th.

St. Augustine eighth (189). The Yellow Jackets got a 19th-place showing from Saneh Ste. Claire (21:11.47).
