Local: SAHS girls stop Ribault

St. Augustine became the second team from St. Johns County to defeat Ribault in girls basketball in the last three days.

The Yellow Jackets’ 48-37 victory on Monday was just the second loss of the season for Ribault, which also fell to Bartram Trail on Saturday.

Ajanai Edwards led the Jackets (15-4) with 14 points and six rebounds. Jasmine Kearse finished with 13 points and nine steals. Briana Maxwell added 10 points and four assists.

FSDB 65, Ocala Christian 62, 2OT: The Dragons improved to 10-1 with a dramatic victory.

Jazzmin Washington led the way with 24 points. Von Burdsall scored 19, and Shua Clay added 10 points.

Boys basketball

Justin Upson scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in leading Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind to a 43-39 win over First Coast Christian.

Corey Koski added 10 points for the Dragons, who improved to 6-3.
