CAMP HILL — Glenwood’s offense was on all cylinders as the Gators scored four touchdowns in the first quarter en route to a 48-12 AISA Class AAA-Region 1 victory over Lyman Ward on Thursday at Cameron-Mitchell field.
Three of the four starters in the backfield scored touchdowns as the Gators forced four turnovers in the first half. After leading 28-6 at the end of the first period, Glenwood added two more touchdowns to make it 41-6 and force the second half to be played with a running clock.
Quarterback Lawson Humphries started the barrage of points when he scored from 3 yards out to cap a four-play, 56-yard drive to open the game. Following a Rangers punt that went only 21 yards, Undriel Copeland took it 32 yards to the house on the ensuing play to make it 14-0.
Lyman Ward, which has now lost 36 games in a row, fumbled and Glenwood recovered. Copeland followed with his second score of the night, and the route was on.
