Lake Howell will honor the “Three Amigos” leaders of its 2006-07 boys basketball state championship team on Tuesday night, but probably without the two members of that trio who are now playing in the NBA.

Nick Calathes, a backup point guard for the Memphis Grizzlies, said he will be represented by family members but not be able to attend the ceremony, which is set for halftime of a 7:30 Lake Howell varsity home game vs. Hagerty.

“I wish I could,” Calathes said in a message to the Sentinel.

Chandler Parsons, starting forward for the streaking Dallas Mavericks, has not confirmed with the school and is also unlikely to make the trip on a travel day between road games at Brooklyn on Monday night and Detroit on Wednesday.

Silver Hawks athletic director Danya Harris said Joey Rodriguez, the dynamic point guard for the title team and a sparkplug for VCU’s Cinderella run in the NCAA Tournament in 2011, is expected to be on hand.
