The following athletes were nominated for their performances from Feb. 22-27. You will find the ballot at the bottom of the page. Be sure to refresh if the poll isn't visible upon first loading. Voting will be open until noon Thursday.
Coaches and athletic directors are invited to nominate athletes each week. Email the athlete's accomplishments for the previous Monday through Saturday to bmccallum@floridatoday.com by 10 a.m. each Monday.
Last week's winner was Guillermo Marr of Holy Trinity lacrosse.
Here are this week's nominees:
Jace Carter, Astronaut boys basketball
Carter scored 33 points on Friday at home as the War Eagles earned a spot in the Class 4A semifinals with a win over Discovery. He scored 21 in Tuesday's win at Tampa Catholic.
Jasmine Francik, Melbourne softball
Francik struck out 14 Heritage batters on Thursday on the road in a win over the Panthers as Melbourne improved to 4-1.
Dylan Geiger, Satellite lacrosse
Geiger scored four goals and assisted on three more Thursday against West Shore. He recorded three assists and a goal on Tuesday at Rockledge.
Austin Jones, Heritage wrestling
Jones won all four matches by pin to win the Region 4-2A 113-pound title Saturday. He won three of the four in less than a minute.
Joey Pusatere, Merritt Island lacrosse
Pusatere recorded four goals and assisted on another, adding three ground balls in a road victory over Rockledge on Thursday.
Mikyla Tolivert, Palm Bay basketball
Tolivert scored 18 points and made three steals in Thursday's Class 5A state semifinal win and then added 16 points with four steals in Saturday's title game.
Skylar Waggoner, Viera softball
Waggoner struck out 14 Rockledge batters on Friday in a Hawks win. She struck out 12 and allowed no hits in a win at Bayside.
