High school roundup: Palm Beach Central girls lacrosse routs Spanish River to remain unbeaten

GIRLS LACROSSE

Palm Beach Central 18, Spanish River 5

Freshman Chiara Scichilone led the Broncos with five goals and 13 draw controls and junior Sabrina Levine added five goals and four assists as the Broncos (6-0) defeated the Sharks.

Sophia Scichilone and Faith O’Neill scored four goals each.

BASEBALL

Palm Beach Lakes 13, Glades Day 7

Trajan Johnson pitched a complete game, striking out 11, and Stephen Duval had two hits and two RBI as the Rams (3-1) beat the Gators (3-2) in West Palm Beach. Braden Browder hit a three-run double for Glades Day.

Berean Christian 13, Boca Raton Christian 2 (5 inn.)

Azzy Lopez was 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs,  Valente Lowery had four hits and an RBI and Julian Knickbocker struck out 11 as the Bulldogs (2-2) defeated the Blazers.

Roberts went 2-for-2 with an RBI for Boca Raton Christian but was the losing pitcher.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Spanish River 13, Wellington 0

Gianna Pacitti threw a touchdown pass to Natali Dominguez and Mya Quinn ran for a score as the Sharks shutout the Wolverines. 

Royal Palm Beach 26, Forest Hill 6

Quarterback Karleigh Farrell threw touchdowns passes to three different receivers, and Jenna Springthorpe returned an interception for a touchdown as the Wildcats defeated the Falcons.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Dwyer 25 23 25 25, Jupiter 18 25 21 22

Quinn Bishop notched 16 kills and 15 assists, and Grant Biederwolf added 20 assists and nine kills as the Panthers (2-0) defeated the Warriors in four sets.

Chance Gagnon chipped in nine digs and seven kills, and Michael Labrie had 10 digs for Dwyer. 

Suncoast 25 25 25, Spanish River 11 17 15

Xander Joros compiled 41 digs, and Daniel Sappia added 18 kills, 16 service points and 10 digs as the Chargers swept the Sharks in three sets.
