After a championship career at Bishop Kenny, Jasmyne Roberts is now being recognized with a new title: Florida's best in Class 4A.

The Bishop Kenny senior forward was named the Florida Dairy Farmers Class 4A girls basketball player of the year on Tuesday.

She now enters statewide balloting as a finalist for the Miss Basketball award.

Roberts averaged 21.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 3.6 steals for the Crusaders, who qualified for their third consecutive Florida High School Athletic Association final four.

Signed with the University of Miami, she wrapped up her high school career with 2,224 points and 1,005 rebounds.

Roberts had twice finished second in the class balloting. As a sophomore, she finished second in Class 6A behind Paris Sharpe of American Heritage, and in 2020, she placed second behind Jordana Codio, also of American Heritage.

The last area Player of the Year awards for a statewide girls basketball classification came in 2019, when Nease's Camille Hobby won the Class 7A award on her way to the Miss Basketball title and Impact Christian's Triniti Snead was named best in Class 2A.

Bishop Kenny coach Charlsea Clark also finished second in voting for Class 4A coach of the year.

Other high area finishers included Oakleaf's Taliah Scott (second in Class 7A) and Columbia's Na'Haviya Paxton (third in Class 6A).

Oakleaf's Fred Cole finished second in Class 7A coach voting, with St. Augustine's Eric Hancock third in Class 5A.
