West Nassau's Dallan Coleman (3) shoots over Santa Fe's Cayvian Wakeley (11) in the Class 4A boys basketball state semifinals.

The awards keep piling up for Dallan (Deebo) Coleman at West Nassau.

The senior wing was recognized Friday as the Florida Dairy Farmers boys basketball player of the year for Class 4A, after leading the Warriors to the Florida High School Athletic Association final four.

He now enters the statewide voting for Mr. Basketball, to be announced next Friday, April 2.

Coleman averaged 24.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Warriors, who turned around their season in mid-year with a 14-game winning streak.

Signed with ACC Tournament champion Georgia Tech, Coleman closed his West Nassau career with 2,539 total points. Only mid-1990s Fletcher star Myron Anthony has scored more in Northeast Florida boys hoops history.

In Class 4A voting, he comfortably earned first place, ahead of Ernest (Poppa) Ross from state runner-up Alachua Santa Fe and Jace Carter from Titusville Astronaut.

If Coleman wins the statewide award, to be announced next week, he would be the second consecutive area winner of the honor and the third all-time. Current Jackson head coach James Collins won Mr. Basketball in 1993, and Paxon's Isaiah Adams captured the award for 2020.

Among other locals, Fletcher's Zyhir Sims placed third in voting for the top player in Class 6A. Impact Christian's Ben Jones came in second as top coach in Class 2A, and Jackson's Collins was third for coaching honors in Class 3A.
