Vicky Hurst tournament coming in April

Holy Trinity's annual Vicky Hurst Golf Tournament will make a non-traditional appearance on the calendar at Suntree Country Club on April 25 at 1 p.m.

The event was cancelled in its usual September spot due to COVID-19. It is a fund-raiser for Tigers athletics. To register to play in the tournament or to become a sponsor, visit htacademy.org/golf or search Facebook for the 2021 Vicky Hurst Holy Trinity Golf Tournament.

Hurst, currently playing on the LPGA tour, graduated from Holy Trinity in 2008 after a four-year career there, including on the boys golf team.

"I know first-hand the importance of athletics in developing lifelong skills such as teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship and the pursuit of excellence," Hurst said.

Holy Trinity offers 41 sports for its students at the Melbourne private school. The tournament raises funds used for athletics expenses, including those for equipment, uniforms, travel and entry fees.

"For so many of our students, athletics is such an essential part of their journey here at Holy Trinity, so it is important we give them every opportunity to challenge

themselves while instilling in them the virtues of hard work, perseverance and teamsmanship, whether they choose to pursue sports as a school or recreational hobby or go on to play for college and maybe even turn pro like Vicky," Tigers athletic director James Phillips said.
