Bolles' championship lacrosse drive came up one quarter short.

St. Edward's scored five goals in the fourth quarter to record a 15-13 come-from-behind win over Bolles in the semifinals of the FHSAA Class 1A state lacrosse championships on Friday afternoon.

St. Edward's, who went to 15-4 with the win, will advance to Saturday's final against Canterbury or St. Andrew's.

The Pirates used three first quarter goals from sophomore attack Ricky Savage to take a 6-4 lead. Bolles got two goals from Jack Mulvey to tie the score 8-8 at the half.

Bolles scored the first three goals of the third period, but the Pirates countered with two scores in the final seven minutes of the period to cut the gap to 11-10 after three.

St. Edward's dominated the final period. Savage got things going with a goal at the 10:23 mark and Danny Richmond, Ford Norris and Oscar Lindenthal followed with goals as the Pirates grabbed a 15-12 lead with 5:11 remaining.

Bobby Crouch cut the gap to two at 15-13 with 4:29 remaining, but St. Edward's controlled possession for most of the remaining time to hang on for the win.

Savage scored six times for St. Edward's and Mulvey had three for Bolles.
