The Franklin County High School Rebelettes lost to the Blackman Lady Blaze 10-0 on the road Tuesday for their 20th loss of the season.
The Lady Blaze scored runs in four of the game’s five innings as the Rebelettes took a decisive loss to close out their regular season.
The Lady Blaze sent all nine of their batters to the plate in the bottom of the first with five of them coming around to score to create a sizable early deficit for Franklin County.
The Rebelettes put a runner in scoring position in the top of the second as Jocilyn DeSmet and Kaitlyn Montgomery hit consecutive singles to get on base with two outs in the frame, but a strikeout ended the inning before either runner could advance further.
Paislie Edge reached base on an error and Kyleigh DeCamp singled with two outs in the top of the third to give the Rebelettes more baserunners. However, a lineout ended the frame with the Rebelettes still trailing by a score of 5-0.
The Lady Blaze bolstered their lead with one run each in the third and fourth innings, and a three-run fifth inning from Blackman officially put the game out of reach and triggered the mercy rule as the Rebelettes lost by 10.
Dalayna Marshall pitched a complete game for the Rebelettes with 10 hits, one walk, six earned runs and four unearned runs allowed.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 7-20 on the season.
They will next play Thursday at Tullahoma High School in a first-round game for the District 8AAA tournament. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
