Bradley Central's tennis teams traveled Standifer Gap Park Wednesday for a Region 3 battle with East Hamilton.
In hard-fought, tight boys match, the host Hurricanes nipped the Bears 5-4, while the Lady 'Canes had little trouble with the Bearettes in a 7-2 tally.
Bradley got singles wins from Parker White (8-6), Hunter Fields (8-5) and Micah Lee (8-2), plus a doubles win from Lee and partner Bryson Stinnett (8-5).
The East Ham boys earned a pair of doubles victories and a trio of singles for the one-point edge.
"Tough loss. East Hamilton has a strong team credit to them for continuing to fight," commented Bradley head coach Franklin Elrod.
"We let this one slip away, we've got to learn how to finish close matches out and find ways to win.
In the girls play the only Bearette singles win came from Carley Horning (8-5) and doubles by L'Angel Cook and Alliyah Osborne (8-4).
"Our girls are young and very inexperienced," remarked Coach Elrod. "They are working hard everyday to improve, but it's a process. Proud of their effort."
Bradley traveled to Athens today for a District 5-AA battle with McMinn County. The Bear netters will host Soddy-Daisy Wednesday before heading to the Oakland Tournament, in Murfreesboro next weekend.
