Huron girls basketball team takes on Saginaw Arthur Hill Tuesday in Class A quarterfinal

The Huron High School has the only Washtenaw County girls basketball team still alive in the MHSAA state tournament. The River Rats will take on Saginaw Arthur Hill on Tuesday in the Class A state quarterfinals, as both teams attempt to take one step closer to their school's first state championship

Huron (20-5) vs. Saginaw Arthur Hill (17-7)

What: Class A state quarterfinal. (Bracket)

Where: Grand Blanc High School. (Directions)

When: 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Winner plays: Winner of Waterford Kettering (23-2) vs. Grosse Pointe South (21-3), Friday at the Breslin Center, 2:50 p.m.

District and regional results: Huron beat Pioneer (48-38), Dexter (52-32), Brighton (47-36), West Bloomfield (50-44) and Hartland (48-40); Arthur Hill beat Flushing (52-42), Saginaw (70-59), Clarkston (54-46) and Midland (77-74, OT).

Notable: Huron is playing in its first state quarterfinal since 1995 and has never made it to the state championship game. Neither team has ever won a state championship, with Arthur Hill losing in its only state finals appearance in 1998.
