Huron maintained a slim lead throughout Wednesday's boys lacrosse matchup with Lincoln.

In the end, Huron improved to 2-2 overall with a 5-4 victory in a game that Huron coach Greg Monroe called pretty frustrating.

"Throughout the game we had trouble clearing the ball," Monroe said. "We took way too many penalties. So overall, it wasn't a good performance for us. I spoke to the guys after the game, and I told them good teams find a way to play even when they are not playing their best. That is what the guys did tonight."

Nils Urbaniak had two goals for Huron, and Gino Meneghini, Trevor Kuhnlein and Chad Aaronson all scored as well.

Dexter earned a 12-2 non-conference win over Gross Ile on Wednesday, thanks in part to solid performances by Louie Kurcz and Connor Benson.

Juniors Kurcz and Benson scored four goals and three goals, respectively, while Ben Spuller contributed two goals and two assists.

“We’re finding our way,” Dexter coach Brad Skinner said. “We’re getting better each week, playing hardm, getting ground balls, getting back on defense quickly - it’s made a difference the last couple of outings for us.”
