As the only senior member of the Lady Titan soccer team, Katie Shosho has left her mark on the program and those around her.
A four-year varsity starter and two-year team captain, her commitment to excellence on and off the field is incredible. She has also been a dedicated member of the Highland Football Club, a competitive travel team based in Asheville, where she honed her skills among some of the region’s top talent.

Her journey is defined not just by her accolades, but by her work ethic, natural leadership and heartfelt dedication to serving others. She is an active member of Rho Kappa, National Honor Society, the Titan Athletic Advisory Council and Peer Group Connection. With grace and grit, she has led her teammates through challenges and triumphs, proudly guiding the next generation of Lady Titans with pride and resilience.

Why did you start playing soccer?
I started playing soccer at first because as a kid I was trying to find an activity to become involved with. As time went on, I grew to love the game, and truly appreciate all the opportunities it has given me as an athlete, student and leader.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?
Alex Morgan, because of her drive and dedication to the game of soccer, as well as her character on and off the field.
What is your favorite food?
Panera white cheddar mac and cheese, because it’s my go-to comfort food.
What is your favorite place to visit?
The beach because I can decompress and take a step away from reality as well as get a really good tan.
What is your go-to music to hype you up?
Anything from the early 2000s, all genres depending on opponent and mood.
Favorite memory so far playing soccer?
My favorite memory so far playing would be my first varsity game as a freshman. During this game, I made a goal line save. All I can remember is the bench going crazy as well as my teammates on the field being proud of me.
Who is someone you look up to?
Someone I admire is my parents. Both of them have worked so hard in life to be where they are at, which has encouraged my strong work ethic and to never give up until you are satisfied with the results.

What do you aspire to do after high school?
After high school I will be attending Eastern Carolina University while majoring in speech language pathology as well as a minor in neuroscience. With a career goal of becoming a certified pediatric speech language pathologist.
Who is your favorite sports team?
Buffalo Bills because I was born and raised as part of the Bills mafia, and love their blue collar approach and the importance of representing their community.
