Highlights: Piketon softball clinches Scioto Valley Conference title

Piketon softball clinched the Scioto Valley Conference title with a win over Paint Valley.

Wednesday
Piketon 14, Paint Valley 1: Jaylin Forbes went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs. Aubrey Heath went 1-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI. Briar Penwell went 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Addy Blakeman 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs and two RBIs. She also pitched four innings, giving up one run, four walks and striking out eight. Reese Shanks went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Ava Ricer went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Danika Ritchie went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI. Kyndall Carroll went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs. For Paint Valley, Hayley Crouch scored the run.
Adena 7, Unioto 1: Adelynn Nelson hit a home run on a 2-for-3 night, where she had two runs and two RBIs. Addy Cottrill got the win, going 6.2 innings, giving up six hits, one earned run, a walk and a strike. She also had two RBIs. Adriana Guarnieri went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Marly Halcomb had two runs. For Unioto, Mackenzie Eisel went 1-for-2 with a double and a run. Peytan Robinson was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Huntington 3, Southeastern 2: Gracie Slaughter had a complete game, giving up two earned runs, five walks and five strikeouts. Savannah Bushatz went 1-for-2 with a run and three stolen bases. Kaylee Kendall went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run. Allie Baker went 1-for-3 with a run and a stolen base. For Southeastern, Jade Turner went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Gracie Brown went 1-for-3 with a run. Ally Fisher also scored a run.
Westfall 10, Zane Trace 5: Jill Butcher and Kenzie Cook hit homers in the win. Butcher's homer was an inside-the-park one in the third inning. She went 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI. Cook went 1-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs. Sydney Fuller went 1-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Gabby Henry and Adrina Hicks also scored runs. Hicks was the winning pitcher with a complete game, giving up five runs, two walks and striking out five.
Waverly 4, Northwest 2: Lexi Smith had a complete game, giving up six hits, two runs, one walk and striking out nine. She also had an RBI. Hayden Jones went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Taegan Olson went 1-for-2 with a run. Emma Nesser went 1-for-2 with a run. Whitley Brown went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Piketon 9, Paint Valley 3: Mason Roberts went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs. Buddy Wilson went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Zach Hannah went 1-for-4 with a run. Wayde Fout went 1-for-2 with two runs, and a double. Kendon Day went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Grayson Roberts went three innings, giving up one run, one walk and striking out five. For the Bearcats, Jase Rinehart went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Willy Wheaton went 1-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base. Brennen Ison went 1-for-2 with a double.
Waverly 1, Amanda-Clearcreek 0: Braylon Spriggs broke the scoreless tie with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to score Liam Cross. Spriggs went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Cross went 2-for-3 with a run. Sawyer Myers went 2-for-3.
Huntington 3, Southeastern 2: Junior McDonald went 2-for-3 with two runs. Brayden Elliott went 0-for-2 with a run. He also pitched a complete game, giving up two hits, two runs (none earned) and striking out 12. Matthew Jordan went 1-for-2. For Southeastern, Gage Cheadle went 1-for-3 with a run. Lane Williams went 0-for-2 with a run.
Zane Trace 7, Westfall 1: Ezra Rippeth went 1-for-2 with a triple, a run, and two RBIs. Coen Larson went 1-for-2 with two runs, and an RBI. Mason Hartley went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and a stolen base. Landen Jarrell went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Josh Young had a complete game, giving up one run, one walk and striking out seven. For Westfall, Nate Wolfe had the run and AJ Pluta had the RBI.
Lynchburg-Clay 5, Chillicothe 0: TJ Barr and Jack Oyer had one hit each.
Thursday
Chillicothe 9, Miami Trace 7: Jack Oyer went 2-for-3 with three runs. Vincent Haller went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Truit McGlone went 3-for-4 with two runs, a double and two RBIs. Mason Brown went 1-for-4 with one run.
Volleyball
Chillicothe 3, Bishop Watterson 0: The Cavaliers swept them 25-15, 25-18, 25-23. In the upcoming OHSAA tournament, the Watterson Eagles received the #2 seed and the Cavaliers will be the #3 seed for the Division 2 Region 5 bracket.
