Women's Tennis Results for October 19, 2011

Moscow, Russia

- All Agnieszka Radwanska had to do to qualify for the WTA Championships was win one match in Moscow. On Wednesday, Radwanska played Lucie Safarova in that one match to secure the 8th qualifying spot and Safarova sent Radwanska packing with a 64, 46, 64 victory. It's Safarova's fourth win in five tries against Radwanska. Luckily for Radwanska, she still has a pretty good shot at qualifying for the WTA Championships next week, because in order for Marion Bartoli to knock Agnieszka out of the 8th qualifying spot, Marion will need to win the Moscow title. Bartoli won't play a seed until the semifinals against 1st-seed Vera Zvonareva (if there are no upsets) and the highest seed left in the bottom of the draw for the final currently is Svetlana Kuznetsova at number six, so there's definitely still hope for Bartoli and her fans.
