CLARION — Keeping its powerful season going strong, the Central Clarion Wildcats routed visiting Brockway 63-0 on Homecoming Night at Clarion High School’s Larry Wiser Field.
The now 7-0 Wildcats, who have outscored foes by a margin of 362-33, put up their fourth 60-plus point effort of the season and third shutout, the second in a row.
Leading 7-0 after one quarter, the Wildcats exploded for 42 second-quarter points and led 49-0 by halftime.
Jase Ferguson continued his impressive senior season with seven touchdown passes. He also rushed for a touchdown and returned an interception for a score.
Ferguson completed 17 of 26 passes for 279 yards. He also added 83 yards rushing on eight attempts.
Jesse Siwiecki caught three passes for 125 yards with two touchdowns covering 59 and 64 yards.
Ethan Rex also caught a pair of touchdown passes as part of his four receptions 32 yard evening. Kohen Kemmer caught five passes for 63 yards with a score. Rex opened the scoring at 7:17 of the first on a two-yard pass
Siwiecki scored both of his touchdowns as part of a six-touchdown quarter for the Wildcats. Noah Harrison scored Ferguson's 2-yard flip pass, Rex on a 16-yard pass, Kemmer on a one-yard pass, and Ferguson on a 32-yard interception return.
Ferguson added a 20-yard touchdown run in the third while Carter Hindman connected with Brody Beggs on a 16-yard pass to close out the scoring in the fourth.
Brockway was held to just six first downs, four of them coming in the first quarter when the Rovers drove the ball from their own 20 to the Wildcats’ 6-yard line before turning the ball over on downs.
The Wildcats defense held the Rovers to just 60 yards of total offense.
Xavier Schwentner rushed seven times for 10 yards. Quarterback Aiden Patton completed 15 of 30 passes for 67 yards with one interception. Blake Pisarcik caught six passes for 19 yards and Kolton Kahle caught two passes for 26 yards.
The Rovers (4-3) visit Union/A-C Valley next Friday in Rimersburg. Central Clarion (7-0) hosts Punxsutawney.
