The Field Hockey Player of the Week for Oct. 11: She helped her team end its season with a win

The regular season may be over, but our field hockey awards are still going strong. This slate of honors paid tribute to those who helped their teams finish 2024 on a high note.

N.J. Star of the Week

So. FWD/MID Paisley Testa, North Hunterdon

Testa scored multiple goals in the Lions’ last three games, which started with a two-goal performance against rival Hunterdon Central. The sophomore had four goals and one assist in North Hunterdon’s win over Kittatinny in the quarterfinals of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament and had a hat trick in an 8-0 win over Hackettstown in the semis.

Honorable mention: Sr. FWD/MID Annika Hoyer, North Hunterdon.

Colonial League Star of the Week

Jr. FWD Shelby Haldeman, Catasauqua

Haldeman had a hat trick against Saucon Valley to help the Rough Riders snap a seven-game losing streak. The junior also scored both of Catty’s goals in a 2-1 win over Palisades.

Honorable mention: Sr. FWD Olivia Costa, Northwestern Lehigh.

EPC Star of the Week

Sr. FWD Emmy Horner, Emmaus

Horner led the Green Hornets to a 6-0 win at rival Parkland with three goals and two assists. The senior, who is second in the region this season in both goals (27) and assists (22), also had an assist in a 6-0 win at Downingtown West.

Honorable mention: So. FWD Kerigan Dreisbach, Whitehall; So. FWD Sadie Nawarynski, Emmaus; Sr. FWD Julia Ricci, Nazareth.

Sr. MID Alyssa Laubach, Freedom

Laubach helped the Patriots close out their season with a big win as she recorded three goals and five assists in a 13-0 victory against Pocono Mountain West.
