VANCOUVER, Ca. (WSMV) - The Nashville Predators came out aggressive on Sunday night but could not hold off Vancouver’s offense as they dropped Game 1 of the series to the Canucks, 4-2, at Rogers Arena

It was Nashville who lit up the board first after left-winger Jason Zucker took the pass from defenseman Roman Josi and flipped a wrister that found the corner of the net with 3:45 left in the first period.

The Canucks responded just 47 seconds into the 2nd period when center Elias Lindholm fired one right by Juuse Saros to tie things at 1. Ten minutes later, center Ryan O’Reilly unleashed the top-shelf wrister for the goal and the Preds took a 2-1 lead into the third.

The Preds would be stunned at the 9-minute mark, however, after Canucks captain Quinn Hughes sends the snapshot through traffic and he gets a tip from Pius Suter for the equalizer. Just 12 seconds later, Conor Garland wrestles away the puck behind the net and finds a wide-open Dakota Joshua in front who flips in the go-ahead. Just like that, Vancouver is up, 3-2.

Vancouver would add an empty-netter with time winding down to seal it, 4-2.

Nashville will have a chance to even up the series on Tuesday in Game 2 at Rogers Arena at 9 p.m. CT.
