COLUMBIA — Ridge View High School wide receiver Jordon Gidron will be sidelined for up to six weeks due to a meniscus tear, the junior announced on X (formerly Twitter) on Sep. 11.
"Hurt my knee during Friday's game, went to the doctor [on] Monday and found out I had a small tear in my meniscus," Gidron said on X. "[The] surgery was yesterday, and it was a success!"
Gidron suffered the tear in a marquee match-up between Ridge View and top-ranked Dutch Fork on Sep. 6. He caught two passes for 34 yards prior to the injury.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked as the No. 1 wide receiver in the state's class of 2026, according to 247sports. He has 25 total offers, including South Carolina, Coastal Carolina, Alabama, Duke, West Virginia and more.
The replies to the post were flooded with wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
"Get well soon! Can't wait to see you on the field," one of the replies stated.
Ridge View will travel to Zemp Stadium to face Camden on Sep 13. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
