Bishop England's girls swim team celebrates a state championship on Oct. 15 in Columbia. 

Four area swim programs made their mark on day two of the SCHSL state championship meets in their respective classifications.

Oceanside Collegiate finished as the state runner-up in the AAA girls meet, with Academic Magnet placing third in the team standings.

OCA’s Charlotte Hill was the state runner-up in the 100 backstroke while Addison Bartemeyer was third in the 100 freestyle. OCA was second in the medley relay and the 400 free relay, taking third in the 200 free relay.

Academic Magnet’s Isa Jickling finished second in the 500 freestyle. The Raptors won the state title in the 200 free relay and finished third in the 400 relay.

Hanahan’s Ellis Wilson finished third in the 100 backstroke.

Bishop England placed third in the team standings of the Class AAAA boys state meet. Owen Fritts was state champion in the 50 freestyle and finished second in the 100. Connor Good earned silver in the 500 free and Jack Cahill finished third in the 200 individual medley.

The Bishops took silver in the 400 free relay and bronze in the 200 relay.

Lucy Beckham’s boys team posted a fifth-place in the Class AAAAA Division II finals. Christian Goodrich was a lead performer with a second-place finish in the 200 free, and Colby Schleier was third in the 200 individual medley.

The Bengals took silver in the 200 medley relay, placing third in the 200 and 400 relays.
