South Aiken took charge with four first-half goals on the way to a 6-1 road win at Hartsville in the first round of the Class AAAA playoffs.
The T-Breds, the No. 11 seed in the Lower State, visit Region 6-AAAA champion Bishop England on Saturday in round two.
May River 8, Midland Valley 1
No. 13 seed Midland Valley's season came to an end Wednesday with an 8-1 road loss to No. 4 seed May River in the opening round of the Class AAAA playoffs.
No. 5 seed North Augusta, a 7-0 winner over No. 12 seed Crestwood, will visit May River on Saturday in round two.
Aiken 0 (4), South Florence 0 (3)
No. 15 seed Aiken outlasted No. 2 seed South Florence, winning 4-3 in penalty kicks Wednesday in a first-round upset in the Class AAAA playoffs.
The Hornets will be back on the road Saturday to face No. 10 seed Bluffton in round two.
Fox Creek 2, Waccamaw 1 (8 innings)
Region 4-AAA champion Fox Creek opened up the Class AAA playoffs with a walk-off win over Region 5-AAA No. 5 Waccamaw.
The game was scoreless through six innings before both teams plated a single run each in the seventh inning, and then Fox Creek struck for the winner in the eighth.
The Predators will be at home Friday for a Lower State District 7 winners' bracket game against Region 5-AAA No. 2 Loris.
Silver Bluff 12, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 0 (4 innings)
Region 4-AAA No. 2 seed Silver Bluff made quick work of Region 6-AAA No. 5 Orangeburg-Wilkinson, riding a seven-run third inning to a four-inning victory in the Class AAA playoff opener.
Haeley Bowman led the Silver Bluff offense with a pair of hits, and the Bulldogs capitalized on 11 Bruins errors while Ryley Bowman tossed a no-hitter.
Silver Bluff will host a Lower State District 6 winners' bracket game Friday against Region 6-AAA No. 2 Hanahan.
Barnwell 11, Cheraw 1 (6 innings)
Region 5-AA champion Barnwell ended things early Wednesday night against at-large opponent Cheraw in the Class AA playoff opener.
Jaidyn Devore homered and drove in five runs, Shalayah Badger drove in a pair, and Kinsley Terrapin added two hits for the Warhorses, who will host a Lower State District 5 winners' bracket game Friday against Region 6-AA No. 2 seed Woodland.
Strom Thurmond 13, Chester 2
Region 2-AA No. 3 seed Strom Thurmond hit the road Wednesday and picked up an emphatic playoff-opening victory over Region 3-AA No. 2 seed Chester.
Sara Beth Mckie had three hits and two RBI, Kinley French drove in three runs, Leigh Anne Strock had two hits and two RBI, Jules Sides homered and drove in two, and Lawsyn Lowe had two hits for the Rebels.
The Rebels will remain on the road for Friday's Upper State District 1 winners' bracket game against Region 1-AA champion Chesnee.
Horse Creek Academy 15, Great Falls 2 (4 innings)
Region 3-A champion Horse Creek Academy cruised past Great Falls on Wednesday to open up the Class A playoffs.
The Stallions will host an Upper State District 2 winners' bracket game Friday against Region 2-A No. 2 Lamar.
Abbeville 6, Wagener-Salley 5
A late rally by Region 3-A No. 2 seed Wagener-Salley came up one run short in Wednesday's Class A playoff opener against Region 1-A No. 4 Abbeville.
Ashley Nettles tripled and drove in three runs for the War Eagles, who will host an Upper State District 1 elimination game Friday against Region 2-A No. 5 Lee Central.
McBee 21, Williston-Elko 1
Region 3-A No. 3 Williston-Elko suffered a lopsided loss in its Class A playoff opener against Region 2-A No. 3 McBee.
The Blue Devils will host an Upper State District 4 elimination game Friday against Region 3-A No. 5 Calhoun County.
Ware Shoals 8, Ridge Spring-Monetta 7
Region 3-A No. 4 seed Ridge Spring-Monetta lost at Region 1-A No. 3 seed Ware Shoals in walk-off fashion in the Class A playoff opener.
The Trojans will hit the road Friday for an Upper State District 3 elimination game against either Ware Shoals or Lewisville.
