Rhodes edges Huntingdon, 6-5

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Rhodes men's lacrosse team started spring break with a road win against Huntingdon College, 6-5.
 
The Lynx improve to 4-2 on the year while the Hawks fall to 1-6 on the season.
 
Rhodes had a balanced scoring attack to bypass Huntingdon, with six different Lynx working into the scoring column. Mattison Hamilton, Ryan Fennelly, Owen Koorbusch, Austin Bridgforth, MG Jadick and Peter Baricev each had a goal apiece.
 
In goal for head coach Dave Zazzaro for all 60 minutes of the contest was Thomas Matthews, who snagged eight saves in the net in route to his fourth win of the season.
 
The battle was a close one, with each squad firing 37 shots on the day. Rhodes managed more shots on goal by a tally of 17-13, but was just edged in ground balls, 23-20 and in face-offs, with 8-6.
 
The Lynx will be back in action at home against Transylvania University on March 9 at 6 p.m.
