SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Rhodes women's lacrosse team picked up a sound second round win in the Southern Athletic Association Conference Tournament over Centre College, 14-5.
The Lynx improve to 13-1 in 2015 while the Colonels finish the season at 7-10.
Rhodes opened the scoring with three straight scores, with a pair of goals from freshman sensation
Kendall Cunningham and Olivia Holmes. Centre scored their first goal of the contest at the 23 minute mark for a 3-1 score.

Brice Queener's high powered offense continued to produce, with four straight goals, with three from
Maggie Rippeto and another Cunningham goal. The Colonels netted their second goal, but the Lynx two scores to end the period from Rippeto and
Erin Gleeson gave Rhodes a 9-2 lead heading into the break.
In the second half, the Lynx opened with back-to-back scores from Holmes and
Tori Van Heyst. Centre snuck in a pair of scores to pull within 11-4. Gleeson, Cunningham and Holmes each added another goal, and with one more Colonel score, the final count of 14-5 stood.
The Lynx edged their counterparts in shot by a margin of 29-23, while the draw control count was even at 10-10. Rhodes scooped up 16 ground balls to the Colonels 14.
Sarah Daniels was stout in the goal for the Lynx with eight saves in 60 minutes of play.
The Lynx, a second-year program, will continue their post season run in the SAA Championship on April 26.
