MEMPHIS-Christian Brothers University softball coach Mandi Balduf announces the signing of Saugus, Calif., outfielder Esther Ferreira to a National Letter of Intent.

A three-year varsity starter, Ferreira led Saugus High School in stolen bases and was her team's most valuable player.

"I think we scored big with signing this speed, power, and explosive player in all of her four foot frame," Balduf said.  "She has impeccable footwork and range in the outfield.  She brings a lot of gap power to the plate and will have the chance to add slapping to her repertoire.  I look for Esther to add to our speedy and strong armed outfield crew and she will be looked upon to replace our graduating speed and maintain our new aggressive style of base stealing."
