CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--- The summer months go by, but news about the Chattanooga Mocs women's golf program continues. This summer update includes top academic honors and a solid Top 5 in amateur play.

Loza, McLennan & Woods Earn WGCA All-American Scholar
The trio of Isabella Loza, Emily McLennan and Megan Woods are the latest WGCA All-American Scholars for the program. The team has 14 such honors in the eight seasons since the first in 2007-08. It is the second time Loza and McLennan earned the honor, while it's Woods' first.

A total of 758 women's collegiate golfers in Divisions I, II, and III were recognized. Student-athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 to be selected for the award. There were 14 total from the Southern Conference with Chattanooga, Western Carolina and Wofford leading the way with three each.

Loza and McLennan are regular members on the Dean's List with Woods joining in both semesters of his first year. Loza and Woods had 4.0 GPA's for the school year, while McLennan turned in a 4.0 during the spring.

"It's a part of the culture of the program," coach Colette Murray stated. "We want to excel in every area and take great pride in our academic accomplishments. Through all of our championships seasons, we also posted one of the top team GPAs in the nation."

McLennan Captures Top 5 in Judson Appearance
McLennan missed out on the chance to defend her Tennessee Women's Amateur title to play in one of the South's top collegiate amateur events, the Judson. McLennan not only played, she excelled tying for fourth after holding the 36-hole lead. She ended up with a 7-over par 220 total to finish four shots off the lead.

Trio Advances to Match Play at Tennessee Women's Amateur
Woods, Murray and Sarah Dolmovich teed it up at the Tennessee Women's Amateur at Chattanooga Golf & Country Club. Woods finished fifth in stroke play qualifying at 151, two ahead of her coach, as Murray tied for ninth at 153, and six clear of Dolmovich tying for 18th. Woods and Dolmovich advanced to the second round of match play, but that's as far as the Mocs would get in 2015.
