MEMPHIS-Christian Brothers University softball coach Mandi Balduf announces the signing of Munford High School infielder Maddison Welch to a National Letter of Intent to join the Lady Bucs.

Welch was a two-time All-District shortstop for coach Glenn Goulder at Munford High School, leading the Cougars to three straight Region 7-AAA championships. Also a three-time All-District Tournament pick, she earned the team's Outstanding GPA award all four years.  Welch also played volleyball for Munford, earning All-District, All-District Tournament and All-Sectional Tournament as a senior as she led Munford to the District 13-AAA championship.

"Maddi is a speed player that was recruited for her gritty style of play," Balduf said. "She is often the player with the dirtiest jersey! I love her attention to detail, and she always seems to do the little things right. She has the heart and desire for this game at this level, so I am excited to see her compete for a position right away."
