Lady Bucs Add Former Briarcrest Infielder

MEMPHIS-Christian Brothers University softball coach Mandi Balduf announces the signing of former Briarcrest High School infielder Blake Andres to a National Letter of Intent. Andres will transfer to CBU from Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Andres, a native of Arlington, played second base and shortstop at Briarcrest. A Commercial Appeal Best of Preps All-Metro player, she won Briarcrest's Team MVP award three times. Also strong in the classroom, Andres was a National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society member, and she won the Joseph A. Clayton Award recognizing academic excellence. She played the last two seasons at Three Rivers.

"Blake's two years of college experience will be needed to help lead this young group of returners and recruiting class," Balduf said. "She comes from a softball family and played high school ball at Briarcrest. She will bring competition, work ethic, and grittiness to our program. She can play multiple positions and her bat will be needed to pick right up where we left off this season."
