BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference released its volleyball All-Decade awards on Thursday. Christian Brothers University had Alexis and Hailey Gillis named to the Second Team.
Alexis (2012-15) is one of just five players this decade to earn at least three First Team All-GSC honors. The Corpus Christi, Texas native also earned 2013 Honorable Mention All-American honors and was named All-Region as a sophomore. She finished her career in the top five in school history in kills
(second -1538), points (second - 1752.5), kills per set (fourth - 3.38), and points per set (fourth - 3.85).
Hailey (2009-12), along with her sister, is one of just five players this decade to earn at least three First Team All-GSC honors. She finished with 1,032 kills and a .201 hitting percentage.
The Gillis sisters helped the Lady Bucs earn back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament (2011-12) and a trip to the championship match of the 2012 GSC Tournament.
