Memphis women's soccer team added to its strong postseason run with a 1-0 upset of No. 2 seed Saint Louis in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.

Senior forward Saorla Miller's goal in the 64th minute was the difference as the Tigers (10-5-5) snapped Saint Louis' 18-match winning streak. Saint Louis (20-2) was ranked No. 10 in the country, according to the United Soccer Coaches rankings.

Memphis, which won the American Athletic Conference tournament, has won three 1-0 games in four matches this postseason.

"Saint Louis is a really good team and they're 10th in the country for a reason, but our girls came out in that second half and executed our game plan and it came out in our favor," Tigers coach Brooks Monaghan said in a statement after the game.

The Tigers return to the road to face No. 7 seed Mississippi State in the sound round. The date and time will be announced after first round games have been concluded.

Saint Louis outshot Memphis 13-5 but the Tigers held Saint Louis to just three shots in the final 30 minutes. Goalkeeper Claire Wyville had a save in the 80th minute to help secure her third shutout of the postseason.

It's the second consecutive season Memphis has won an NCAA Tournament game after defeating LSU 3-0 in last year's first-round matchup. Prior to that, the Tigers hadn't won a NCAA tournament game since 2011.
