OKLAHOMA CITY — Tennessee softball faces Florida State on Monday in the Women's College World Series semifinal. The Lady Vols would have to beat the Seminoles twice to advance to the best-of-three championship series.
No. 4-seed Tennessee (51-9) avoided elimination Sunday with a 3-1 win over 6-seed Oklahoma State. No. 3-seed Florida State (57-9) has yet to lose in the double-elimination tournament, having beaten Oklahoma State and 7-seed Washington to stay in the winner's bracket.
If Florida State wins, the Seminoles will advance to the national final against either 1-seed Oklahoma or 9-seed Stanford. If Tennessee wins, it will force a second game to be played Monday night. The winner of that second game would advance to the final.
